The Mindset Behind the Milestones
People have been asking how it feels to be accepting the MM+M Pinnacle Award this May. And my honest answer? Fabulous and amazing! But weird.
Because the mindset that got me here doesn’t exactly come with a finish line. It’s not about crossing some imaginary threshold and declaring victory. If anything, it’s about keeping the momentum — even when you’re tired, even when the path isn’t clear, and even when you’ve already checked a hundred boxes that were never on the original to-do list.
That’s the reality of building something from scratch.
There’s no rulebook, no script, and no step-by-step guide to starting your own agency. Just a blurry vision of how you want to work, a few people crazy enough to come with you, and the willingness to take one risk after another in service of doing it your way.
And the mindset? It’s a mix of instincts and obsessions.

Never done.
There’s always something to build, refine, and question or you can blow it up and start over. That’s the whole point. We’re not chasing perfection — we’re chasing better.

No “off” button.
My brain doesn’t clock out just because it’s the weekend. Every night, just before dinner, my husband asks, “Are you done?” And I tell him, “Not really. Not ever.” I rest, but I don’t retreat. When you love what you do, it follows you — in the best way.

Don’t say “yes” to everything.
Because, let’s be honest, the client isn’t always right. And that’s not shade. It’s our job to push for better. To ask the hard questions. To go deeper. We don’t just hand over what you think you need — we collaborate to find what’s actually right. That’s where the magic happens.
This way of thinking is powerful. It fuels momentum. It gets results. It’s the reason SFC Group exists at all, and it’s the reason we’ve grown into something I’m wildly proud of.
But it’s also exhausting.
And messy.
And occasionally, it can catch up with you if you’re not careful.
Because, when your default is go, it’s easy to overlook the things that don’t make it onto the to-do list — like your health, your family, and your peace of mind. That’s why pausing isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom.
I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, that you don’t have to run yourself into the ground to prove you care. Success doesn’t mean skipping the joy. In fact, around here, we make it a point to celebrate everything — the big wins, the little ones, and the moments in between.
Boundaries aren’t a betrayal of the hustle — they’re what make it sustainable. You just have to be intentional. And honest. And surrounded by people who remind you to look up, take a breath, and toast how far you’ve come.
So yes, I’m honored to be receiving the Pinnacle Award next month. But more than that, I’m proud of the mindset that got me here and the team that keeps making this agency feel like the best kind of uphill climb.
At SFC Group, we’re wired for more. No brakes, no burnout — just purpose, hustle, and heart.
